AI… what’s this about?

I came across AI as a fad recently, and a good client of mine told me to give ChatGPT a go. I started paying with that google on steroid and eventually found some use for it. Firstly, don’t try and talk politics with it… Seriously, it’s pointless… it’s woke as, by design… But if you want to get started on things like, papers, research, drafts… then it’s quite a time saver. For sure, it probably won’t teach you anything you would not have found yourself, but at the cost of hours of googling, reading etc… So it’s very EA ready in my book, like, it allows reuse very nicely and gets you closer to your goal faster than manual labour… For that only, I give Open AI, for instance, 5 stars. It won’t show creativity, but it will get the frame and canvas fill up fast, so you can add your IP easy and with little fuss.

Is it going to be some kind of ghostwriter for the content producers like me out there? I certainly hope so. There are lines and lines of stuff that I honestly would prefer not to have to retype to only concentrate on the value proposition, the unique stuff, the creative side of my work. And guess what? There are so many flavours of AI tools out there it’s scary… last I counted thanks to some great poster on LinkedIn there were 100… and I’m going through every single one of them. Surely I can recommend certain more than others if, like me, you are concerned with fast response in your EA daily work.

Here is a pic of what I am talking about. I hope you enjoy it as much as I am right now… it’s a feeling that reminds me a bit of what Dr Henry Walton “Indy” Jones Jr looked like when he found the ark of covenant! Or at least I think he must have…

Here is an example of what I am talking about:

I asked: Write a blog on OpenAI.

OpenAI responded: OpenAI is an artificial intelligence research laboratory consisting of a team of researchers and engineers, founded in 2015 by a group of prominent figures including Elon Musk, Sam Altman, Greg Brockman, and others. The organisation aims to create advanced artificial intelligence in a responsible and beneficial way.

OpenAI’s primary goal is to ensure that AI is developed and used safely, transparently, and ethically, while benefiting humanity as a whole. It does this by creating cutting-edge AI technologies and promoting research in the field, with a focus on developing advanced machine learning models, natural language processing, robotics, and other related fields.

One of the notable achievements of OpenAI is the development of the GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) language model series. GPT models have revolutionised natural language processing by achieving state-of-the-art performance on a wide range of language tasks, such as question answering, summarizations, and language translation. GPT-3, the latest iteration of the GPT series, has been particularly groundbreaking, achieving impressive levels of language understanding and generation capabilities.

Apart from its research activities, OpenAI also provides various services and tools to developers, researchers, and companies to help them leverage AI effectively. One such tool is OpenAI Gym, a platform for developing and comparing reinforcement learning algorithms. Another is OpenAI Codex, a large-scale AI model that can write code in various programming languages and frameworks.

OpenAI is committed to responsible AI development and has been proactive in identifying and addressing ethical issues related to AI. It has established an Ethics and Governance team, which works to ensure that AI is developed and used in a way that benefits society as a whole. OpenAI also aims to democratise AI by providing free access to its research and tools to individuals and organisations worldwide.

OpenAI’s work has received significant recognition, with several awards and accolades. In 2020, OpenAI was named one of the world’s most innovative companies by Fast Company, and GPT-3 was awarded the title of the Breakthrough Technology of the Year by MIT Technology Review.

In conclusion, OpenAI is a leading AI research organisation that is committed to developing advanced AI technologies in a responsible, transparent, and beneficial way. Its groundbreaking work in natural language processing and other areas of AI has significant potential to transform many industries and benefit society as a whole.
